The first fundraiser we held for the Mercer Museum featured the amazing Brian Selznick. Now, for our second, we have the much loved, incredibly talented children's book author, illustrator, and 2012 Academy Award winner for Best Animated Short Film
WILLIAM JOYCE
WILLIAM JOYCE
Mr. Joyce will be reading and discussing his books, which will be followed by a signing. I had the pleasure of seeing The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, and it brought me to tears. Add the words, and it's even more powerful! (Here's the trailer, if you're interested)
And the Guardians for Children series, the picture books are breathtaking (I saw him present Man in the Moon and the audience was spellbound!)
I am also so glad for the return of Mr. Joyce's back list classics. What a treat!
I hope you will bring your family to just us on Wednesday evening, April 26th at 7pm (doors open at 6:20 for last minute purchases) for this ticketed event. Tickets are available at the store and by phone (with a surcharge).
Prices are $22 for one adult, $4 for an extra family member (total $26) or $30 for three or four family members. That price includes your reserved seat(s) and one of the 10 picture books.
Additional books can be bought at $17 for a picture book ($18 for "Fantastic") and $15.25 for the Guardians for Children chapter books. (You are receiving a 10% discount including tax)
Mercer Museum will be receiving 15% per ticketed book & 50% of the $4 for each additional family members.
Mr. Joyce will ONLY be signing books bought during the pre-sale or at the event. The signing after his program will be in numbered order.
Make sure you get your choices by using the pre-sale!
Mr. Joyce will be at two schools during the day so personalized books will be limited if you are unable to attend the event.
If you plan to attend but can't get into the store to pre-order, we will be taking orders over the phone (with a $1-2 surcharge) and there will be a "will call" area with the other bagged orders at the event.
